JOB DESCRIPTION: Intervene in mental health crisis or emergency situations and arrive at an appropriate disposition to maintain mental health care in the least restrictive and appropriate setting. Responsible for being available for any emergencies that may occur between the hours of 9:00 pm and 5:00 am. The Overnight Brief Intervention Specialist will primarily work from home on a pager and respond to mental health crisis emergencies when paged. Triage cases and use 27-65 criteria to evaluate people, and facilitate the suitable disposition, often while coordinating with medical staff, family, friends, interested individuals and agencies. Must relate well with numerous outside community agencies, as well as with Mental Health Partners staff and other members of this 24/7 team. Position may include weekends and after hours.
Must have Master‚s Degree + one or two year internship + 0-1 year experience. Licensed PhD or PsyD, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT) required. If not licensed, must be license-eligible and actively working toward attainment of required hours/supervision to obtain license in a reasonable timeframe following hire. Emergency psychiatric experience preferred. Must be reliable in performance of duties, being prompt about work hours and making sure shift is adequately covered. Tuberculin skin (TB) testing, urine analysis (UA), measles, mumps & rubella (MMR) vaccine and influenza vaccine reports required. Must have reliable transportation to transport self to various work locations. Safe driving record and a current Colorado driver‚s license required.
